Ophir, population zero (nobody lives here either) is the check point at race mile 328. This is a ghost town, named by a Bible-reading prospector the the country of Ophir, the source of King Solomon's gold. (Well, there you go. There is religion in here after all!) The check point is at Dick and Audra Forsgren's cabin. Jan arrived here about 5:30 this morning.
The interesting thing to know about Ophir is that it is the place where the northern and southern race routes split. Last year Jan turned north. This year she will turn south. You can see on the map that the next bit is unknown territory for Jan, but that is why she wanted to race again this year - to experience both race routes.
