Well, today we had intended to run our teams, however, tomorrow is a vet day and they are doing blood work on the dogs and EKG's. I checked out the Vet letter and it said that the dogs needed to be rested the day before. So...we shifted gears...
We spent the day cutting and bagging salmon and meat. Thank you Andrea Hawkes for sponsoring salmon for our dogs. We also took a bunch of meat over to the meat cutter, Lev. He is doing a fabulous job cutting the meat for snacks. We are trying to get a bunch of the meat cut ourselves to help keep our costs down. We will be busy in the next few days bagging the meat snacks.
We ordered the rest of our vaccines for the dogs. We also picked up Ted's trailer and it has a dog box on it. Tomorrow morning we will head to the Iditarod Headquarters and do our blood work and EKG"s for both teams.
Then we will head to Crystal Lake and take the dogs out for a short run. Pray for no moose !

ReplyDeleteWell, we didn't get the run in after vet checks, but we got our run in today. And no moose. Actually, we saw two but they took off into the trees when they saw us coming. We had a good run.
