PRODUCTIVE DAY

Woke up early and watered and scooped the kennel.  Then Angie and Justin came by and picked up their fish.  We all kind of wished that we each had more fish.   Contemplating another run to pick up more fish.  We will see. 

Then I took a run to Talkeetna DMV and picked up my plates for my subaru...now officially registered in the state of Alaska.  Transfered the title to the trailer.   There were strong winds on the road. 

Got home and Bob had moved the freezer out to the shed and had 110 fish in it.  Sure is a good feeling looking at all of those fish.  My dogs love salmon.  We will have our work cut out cutting and bagging fish. 


We did a longer 4 wheeler run and the dogs did great.  On coming pass with another musher.  We are not running into many mushers these days.  They must be running Hatcher Pass...or?

    Surr wish I had a weekend I could come up and help you guys! Even the task of cutting up fish sounds exciting just to get involved with these amazing dogs and the spirit of Iditarod. And of course the great people that sacrifice modern conveniences to allow the dogs to do what they love. RUN!

    There is so much to do for a small kennel with two Iditarod teams...with no handlers. We could keep you busy! If you came up we would have to take you out in the sled...You would love the dogs up close and personal. They are all so very awesome.

    I have 30 of my own, but they are pretty prima donna show dogs, not working dogs. They like to show but it isnt a passion for them like running is to a sled dog. I will send you a picture if my pack someday. Would love to go out in the sled. Hmmmm may have to figure out a way to sneak up there.
