BIRDIE AND COMPANY GO TO YELM

What a GREAT day.   We gave two school assemblies to the students at Prairie Elementary in Yelm.   One for K - 2nd grade and one for the 3rd - 6th grades.  The kids were awesome.   When we arrived, we were greeted with signs welcoming us.    It was very nice and we felt very welcomed.

 Birdie was a big hit.  She is one awesome dog.   

I think that she likes school visits as much as the kids

 At each assembly one of the teachers got to dress up as a musher !  

After the two assemblies, Bob, Birdie and I went and spent time with the 3rd graders.   They are the ones who actually learned about the Iditarod and followed us.  We spent another half hour with them answering many questions.   If was fun meeting the kids who had all sent letters to me.  We passed out team photos.  

 We want to thank the teachers and students for a wonderful time.  Thank you for our gift bags and also for the decorated dog bowl for Birdie.  She is one lucky dog!  We hope that you have a fantastic summer.  Birdie says "Read lots of books this summer"!
