Will post this evening...lots to update! Looking forward to many school visits coming up. Kari- I will call you this evening. Iowa here we come end of May.
Welcome home Jan! I'm sure it isn't easy to leave AK but I hope you get a good rest, good time with family and have TONS of fun with the school kids! = Juie
Thanks Julie! It is always a hard transition...a fish out of water...a musher off a sled...??? In any event, it is always a time of deep thought and figuring where to from here.
Jan, welcome back to Edmonds! Last week - before I went in for surgery the 4th graders and I completed a great post with comments from the kids...and you guessed it... the wifi connection tanked and the post was gone. I was out after that - surgery on Thursday - so didn't get to repost their comments. I am home recuperating and don't know when I'll return to teaching, but will, of course, be present when you visit the school.
Right now they are creating Iditarod "Lap Books" with all kinds of information about the race, the dogs, and the mushers. This is such a rewarding and rich event for teaching and working with kids!!! They eagerly await your visit. Which dog - are you bringing one? will accompany you? Is Bob accompanying you as well? Looking forward to seeing you soon. Nancy
Oh, how well I know that experience. Frustrating! I have lost a number of emails that I have taken time to respond to and it is awful. I don't know what I do to cause them to vanish. Lap Books sound really neat.
Let me know if you would like a "walnut coffee break". I will deliver!
I think that the dog that we will be bringing will be "Birdie". She is a sweetheart and a Siberian Husky.(One of Bob's dogs.)
Bob will be coming to as many school visits as we have while he is in Washington. So, it will just depend on when we schedule your visit. Looking forward to seeing you and the kids !
Jan.. A Walnut Street latte sounds divine. If you have spare moment I'd love to have a visit from you. Not able to drive for a while as my shoulder heals. N
Will be visiting and will bring you a latte from Walnut Street. Still am amazed that we were both there that day...and we met. Hope that your recovery is going well.
Recovery is going well. Started PT today (Monday 4/22) and - as I'm sure you remember clearly!!- it can really hurt. I'll be at this for a while (6-12 weeks according to the dr.). Give me a call - I'd love to have a visit anytime.
Welcome back Jan! We are excited you have returned. Looks like next week we are supposed to have some weather that might warm you up a little. Our school is on Spring Break next week, but after that we hope we can schedule you in for a school visit with our 5th grade classes if you have some free time. Most importantly, get lots of rest and enjoy seeing your loved ones again!
