Dogs were happy to get out and didn't seem to mind the rain. As for the musher...well, I was glad to be out on the trail, but I would have preferred no rain. I wore my refrigerwear bibs and a water proof jacket. I was dry on top but my bibs were soaking wet when we got back. All of our gear is hanging up near the stove, drying.
For the past few days we have been checking out the weather reports for the Denali Highway, Willow and the Fairbanks area. We will be leaving wet Willow on Friday morning in search of colder, dryer weather. Wish us luck!
While driving through Fairbanks, I will be stopping at Apocalypse Design to get measured for a parka or anorak for Iditarod. I am pretty excited.
